To promote the concept and benefits of a well-structured year out to all stakeholders: young people, parents and advisers, recipients of young people's efforts, DfEE, employers, higher education institutions and others.
To provide accurate, impartial information about structured year out opportunities.
To make a commitment to the establishment of a quality framework appropriate to year out activities and programmes.
To co-operate amongst members and sectors in the exchange of information and in pursuit of benefits.
To provide a collective voice in lobbying and representing members' interests.
To represent each sector and size of organisation equally and impartially.
