About Lattitude Global Volunteering

Lattitude Global Volunteering is an international youth development charity, with HRH The Princess Royal as our Patron.

Through volunteering abroad, we give young people the opportunity to experience the world beyond their community and to truly engage with it.

We help to develop young people’s awareness and responsibilities towards themselves and others, and equip them with employability and life skills.

Our volunteers make a positive difference to the lives of others through a distinctive, challenging, structured and supported overseas volunteering experience.

Importantly it takes place in a culture and community different from their own.

More than 40,000 young people aged 17-25 have volunteering abroad with Lattitude since our inception in 1972.

 Truly international

Lattitude Global Volunteering operates from across the world, with in-country managers and a team of dedicated volunteers to ensure that volunteering opportunities are available to all young people.

 Home from home

Although there are many fantastic volunteering opportunities in your own communities (and we highly recommend giving your time to some local projects too!), volunteering internationally really helps you to get out of your comfort zone.

“It was truly a privilege to be trusted to work in such a challenging environment doing something I loved”.

Alumni support

When your placement is over and life has returned to normal, we want your time with Lattitude and your host community to stay with you forever.

You can continue to be involved with us, by supporting others to have the experience you enjoyed.
