About Projects Abroad

Projects Abroad is the world’s leading international volunteering organisation, with headquarters in the UK and offices and projects in over 50 countries around the world.

With our global reach, we offer the widest range of volunteer projects and locations, and our own dedicated staff are on hand 24/7 to make sure our volunteers make the most of their experience and leave a lasting, positive impact.

Volunteering abroad is an act of service and an opportunity for self-reflection.

The willingness to step outside your comfort zone to help and learn from others is no small feat, and we love connecting people around the world ready for adventure and eager to make an impact.

Projects Abroad volunteers work with some of the most vulnerable groups in the world and we take that responsibility seriously.

We are proud to provide the structure that our volunteers need to help change communities and explore the world in a meaningful way.

Volunteering & more

While our primary focus will always be on our volunteers, interns, and host communities, we also have the capacity and the desire to explore other areas and help where it’s needed.

This can be seen in initiatives such as our charity work where we are committed to running two separate charitable foundations.

What’s included

Our prices include all of your food, accommodation, travel and health insurance, airport transfers, transport to and from work where required and 24 hour back-up and support from UK and local Projects Abroad staff.

Alumni Network

Your Projects Abroad experience doesn’t have to stop when you step off the plane and return home.

As a former volunteer, you automatically become part of a community of nearly 100,000 people just like you: our Alumni Network.

While it’s exciting to travel to a foreign destination, we know it’s even more important to ensure that our projects are worthwhile for both our volunteers and the communities in which they work.

That’s why every programme offered by Projects Abroad has been arranged to provide the maximum value to both you and the organisation or group you’re volunteering for.

Our Impact

As a volunteer, you want to take part in something that will make a real, tangible difference to someone’s life.

We work hard to ensure that our initiatives make a meaningful contribution to the community in which they are based, and are constantly striving to improve the overall volunteer experience.
