Our Thailand volunteering projects put you at the heart of the local community. During your year out in Thailand you will spend time in local primary or middle schools in the Maekok River Village and with the hill tribes helping students with their spoken English and some reading and writing too. You will live and work in the local community, living in a traditional Thai property and cooking and eating the local foods. You will quickly become part of village life and build lasting friendships and memories.
Whether you are considering a career in teaching or simply looking to see the world differently and experience a different way of life, our volunteering programs put you in a unique position to be able to influence young minds and improve the future for rural communities.
Immersed in local community
Our volunteers are fully immersed in the local culture, living working and playing in the Maekok River village communities. You will learn a very different perspective on the world working with local tribes from the hilltop villages and helping them maintain their traditional way of life whilst improving the future of their children with English speaking, reading and writing skills.
Work & Play
You will also have the opportunity to share your other skills with the children and adults whether you love sports, drama, music, art or whatever you have a passion for, share it with the people you meet on your travels and you will experience a huge sense of reward from having imparted your knowledge. We believe that young people have so much to offer and our volunteering programs help you make a real difference to the world.
It isn’t all about volunteering though, there is also plenty of time to explore your surroundings and experience all that this stunning country has to offer. We leave four weeks at the end of our 16 week programs for independent travel with your group. You choose where you want to go and what you want to do but you have the comfort of knowing that our local in country team are there to support you 24/7 if you need them.
