About AHA

AHA creates excellent courses about art, the love of culture and the appreciation of beautyArt History Abroad offers immersive and enriching gap year programs focused on the exploration of art, culture and history. We have programs ranging from 2 weeks to 12 weeks in Italy, Europe, and India. Our courses are designed for students aged 17-22 of every academic background with a passion for creativity, curiosity about the world, and a desire to broaden their horizons through travel and learning.

Students return home confident to speak about art. To learn this must be one of the greatest gifts. For some it might be the beginning of a career in the art world but for everyone, an interest in civilization adds quality to all walks of life.

Inspiration

At AHA, we believe that the creativity of others is an inspiration for our future.

We believe that art studied at first hand is vivid and means something. We also believe that unstuffy tutors and good conversation are the keys to learning.

And lastly, we believe that travel makes us greater and that we are guests in another’s country.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Dynamic Tutor: Our brilliant tutors are dynamic, enthusiastic experts from various academic fields. They roll back the disciplines of formal education and provide an inter-disciplinary approach that includes (to name a few) philosophy, history, theology and mythology.
  • Hands-On Learning:We will never teach in a classroom and won’t give you any homework, we only teach in front of the artwork, organising engaging sessions that involve both theoretical and practical experience.
  • Exclusive Access: Gain rare access to iconic cultural sites like the Vatican Museums and St. Mark’s Cathedral, with private visits avoiding crowds.
  • Broaden your intellectual horizons– travel delve into the rich tapestry of art, architecture & sculpture
  • Travel with purpose: Explore the world with intention, seeking experiences that offer cultural immersion, meaningful connections, and a deeper understanding of the world we live in.

So, welcome to AHA, we hope you enjoy learning how we make our wonderful courses and why, over 30 years, we and thousands of students have had so much fun.
