About Pod Volunteer
We are focused exclusively on overseas volunteering.
It’s all we do and what we are passionate about and we’re driven by the needs of the projects we support.
We only offer sustainable volunteering projects that have lasting and positive impact on the local community.
A range of opportunities
Whether you want to want to help elephants in Africa and Asia, learn to dive and contribute to reef conservation in the Caribbean, research the Amazon jungle and forests of Madagascar, or support children and education around the world, then Pod Volunteer has the project for you! Volunteers are needed for 1-12 weeks to help work with animal care and rescue, conservation initiatives, building projects and disadvantaged children and communities in Belize, Cambodia, Ghana, India, Madagascar, Nepal, Peru, South Africa and Thailand.
Grow your skills and CV
A placement with Pod Volunteer will not only develop your skills and confidence. You’ll get you out of your comfort zone while exploring incredible parts of the world. It will also provide an incredible experience which looks great on your CV. You can choose to complete additional qualifications such as a TEFL course or PADI dive certifications. We are also an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
We send over 600 volunteers around the world each year. We’re passionate about giving volunteers the opportunity to use their energy, enthusiasm and skills where it counts. At the same time our volunteers have the great experience of responsibly contributing to a sustainable, worthwhile project.
Dedicated placement manager
You’ll receive a dedicated placement manager who will help you to choose the right project for you. They’ll then support you all the way through the process, including 24/7 back up support. Our friendly team has a wealth of overseas volunteering and travel experience. We have all volunteered overseas and pride ourselves on our project and location knowledge. We are active members of the Year Out Group, Tourism Concern, Responsible Travel, Right Tourism and the FCO Know Before You Go Campaign.
As a non-profit organisation with associated charity, we can keep costs down for volunteers and maximise financial donations for the projects. We also support our projects through the Pod Charity (UK charity number 1139629) by providing financial assistance to overseas causes and so far the charity has raised over £100,000!
