About The Leap

Hit the ground running and start your gap year knowing you’re in safe hands with a Leap team programme. Join a group of like-minded people your own age (18-22) for a volunteering adventure programme, where everyone starts and finishes together, and where you’ll be contributing to pioneering volunteer projects around the world.

We offer an unrivalled collection of financially-protected, high-quality gap year programmes where safety comes first – all organised and supported by caring and experienced staff.

Our gap year programmes combine multiple locations and different projects in a single trip.

We are passionate about helping our Leapers contribute to a better planet. We organise everything, meaning you can hit the ground running and make a real difference in places that need it most.

‘I just wanted to let you know that I’m safely back in the UK and missing Costa Rica already! A huge thank you, as I had an absolutely wonderful time – everything was so well organsied, and so comprehensive. All the volunteering was great, and I felt really enriched by the end of it, and well-prepared for the little bit of solo travelling I did. I’m so glad I went and will treasure the time I spent there.’

Preparing you for your onward travels:

Through the Leap programme you have the chance to give something back, head off the backpacker trail, make friends for life, and develop many ‘soft skills’ that are coveted in the workplace and will definitely enhance your CV.

Our programmes enable you to become travel savvy, knowing that if anything goes wrong we are on hand 24/7 to assist. We know that after a programme you will be ready for the challenge of independent backpacking with the newfound friends you’ve just made. Not only that, but we’re here to help and guide you, through our Backpacking Advice Hub and through talking you through any and all gap year ideas you might have.

Supported by a friendly, supportive UK and overseas team:

All of this is meticulously planned, executed and supported by our highly-experienced team of overseas project leaders and UK staff. They’re handpicked for their dedication to making your trip a safe and ultimately rewarding experience.

Our UK staff know exactly what’s involved in taking The Leap and are here to help before, during, and after you’re trip. Once the adventure begins, they’ll be busy liaising with your project leaders on the ground and monitoring your progress.

They’re on-hand 24/7 should you need them.
